Whose information we collect, and consent

Our account holders are parents and guardians. Where we collect information about a child, we collect it from the parent or guardian, who provides it and agrees to this policy on the child's behalf.

What personal information we collect

Depending on how you interact with us, we may collect:

  • Parent or guardian details: name, email address, and phone number.
  • Student details: first name, year level, and the school the student attends.
  • Learning information: diagnostic results, practice performance, and photographs of completed work submitted for marking.
  • Payment information: processed securely by our third-party payment processor. We do not store full card details.
  • Website and technical information: collected automatically through cookies and similar technologies (see "Cookies and tracking" below).

We collect the student's school so that we can identify the student and manage conflicts of interest — we do not enrol students from the school at which our founder is employed.

We do not collect sensitive information, such as health information or learning diagnoses, and we ask that you do not provide it.

How we collect personal information

  • Directly from you: through forms on our website, by email, and by WhatsApp.
  • Automatically: through cookies and analytics when you use our website.

Why we collect, use, and hold personal information

We use personal information to:

  • provide and deliver our services, including daily practice, marking and feedback, and classes;
  • communicate with you, including daily reminders and nudges by WhatsApp and email;
  • process payments;
  • confirm eligibility and manage conflicts of interest;
  • send marketing to people who have opted in (you can opt out at any time); and
  • operate, secure, measure, and improve our website, including through analytics and advertising.

Where it is held and who we disclose it to

We hold personal information using reputable third-party service providers, including providers of email and mailing-list management, website forms, payment processing, file storage, and website analytics and advertising. We disclose personal information to these providers only so they can perform those functions for us.

We do not sell personal information. We may also disclose personal information where required or authorised by law.

Overseas disclosure

Some of our service providers store and process information outside Australia. We are likely to disclose personal information to recipients in the United States — for example, our email, website-form, payment, analytics, and advertising providers.

Cookies and tracking

Our website uses cookies and similar technologies, including Google Analytics and the Meta (Facebook) Pixel, to understand how the site is used and to measure and target advertising. These tools may collect information such as your device, browser, the pages you visit, and the actions you take, and may disclose that information to Google and Meta in the United States.

You can control or disable cookies through your browser settings, and you can manage analytics and ad personalisation through Google's and Meta's own privacy settings. Disabling cookies may affect how the website works.

Marketing and how to unsubscribe

If you have opted in, we may send you marketing emails. Every marketing email includes an unsubscribe link, and you can opt out at any time. You can also contact us through our contact form to be removed from our list.

How we keep your information secure

We take reasonable steps to protect personal information from misuse, loss, and unauthorised access, including by using reputable service providers that maintain their own security measures. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure.

How long we keep your information

We keep personal information only for as long as we need it for the purposes set out in this policy, or as required by law. You can ask us to delete information we no longer need to hold.

Accessing and correcting your information

You can ask us for a copy of the personal information we hold about you or your child, and ask us to correct it if it is inaccurate, out of date, or incomplete. Contact us through our contact form. We will respond within a reasonable time and may need to verify your identity first.

Complaints

If you believe we have mishandled your personal information, contact us through our contact form and we will investigate and respond. If you are not satisfied with our response, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at oaic.gov.au.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time as our information-handling practices change. The current version is always available on this page, and we will update the "last updated" date above when we make changes.
